Funfair workers save cars from blaze
Article from Bolton News

FUNFAIR workers dramatically saved a car showroom from an arson attack after they towed a burning vehicle away from danger.
A member of the North-West Funfairs team was returning back to his office in Mill Street, Bolton, when he noticed smoke coming from the forecourt of the neighbouring Bolton Audi showroom.
When he and other staff went to investigate, they saw flames coming from the back of an Audi in the car park.
The car was parked close to other cars and Mr Hill thought the blaze was in danger of spreading.
After crawling to the car, fairground manager Darren McMullen, managed to attach a chain to the front wheel.
Mr Hill then used his Toyota 4×4 to tow the car to safety.
The Audi’s steering was locked and the handbrake was on, so it took all the 4×4’s power to move the car a few feet.
Mr Hill said: “We yanked it out because it was right in the middle of all the cars.
“The fire brigade said if we hadn’t done it, the whole compound would have gone.”
